School & Youth Workshops

I deliver trauma-aware workshops for secondary schools, sixth forms and colleges, helping young people understand emotions, behaviour, resilience and how to safely reach out for support. These workshops are grounded in my lived experience and delivered in a way young people recognise as real, honest and relatable.

My sessions help students make sense of their own feelings and behaviours without fear or judgement. Many young people don’t realise that their reactions, shutdowns, anger, withdrawal or overwhelm are connected to deeper emotional experiences. My workshops help them understand these patterns and give them tools to manage their emotional world more safely.

I also explore the reality of disclosure — why it is difficult, what stops young people from speaking up, and how to recognise when they need help. Students learn about self-worth, boundaries, emotional safety, coping strategies and recognising harmful situations. These sessions can be adapted to your school’s needs, whether you want a whole-year assembly or more intimate small-group work.

In addition to student workshops, I offer optional staff sessions where I explain trauma-informed behaviour interpretation, emotional triggers, regulation, communication approaches and how to build safer, more supportive school environments. These staff briefings often transform how behaviour is understood and managed.
